“ The food is amazing. We didn't take any photos. The hubs had baked chicken w/ rice, Mac and cheese, greens, yams, and cornbread. I ordered smothered pork chops with rice, green beans, corn, black-eyed peas, and cornbread. I asked for a to-go container, but when the owner brought it out... my plate was empty with a bone. Everything was delicious. Now, this cake... this is so moist and chocolaty. It's definitely from scratch, and so is the icing. This didn't miss, and we're coming back. Oh... and before I left, the owner brought the pound cake. Glory to God! Y'all, support this BOB! ”

“ The food is really good, and made to order. I had the fried chicken plate with Mac and Cheese and green beans. They didn't disappoint. The owner was really nice. They also have a bar. I had two black labels on the rocks, and I got them at a reasonable price. I will definitely be back. I mentioned this as well in my Google review; but I didn't mention that they have a stage, and I was told they have live music. When I went, it was during lunch; but I'll definitely be back to check out the live music. ”

The Coldwater Cornbread was absolutely delicious. I wasn't a fan of the baked chicken but the fried was on point! The lemon cake was good. ”
“ Yes, I came back for seconds.. lol... Honestly, I had to make sure the first visit wasn't a fluke. It wasn't..They did not disappoint!!..I ordered the smothered chicken this time; the same sides, yams, greens& and Mac& cheese( I like what I like), but I also tried the black- eyed- peas. Again, everything was OMG delicious!.. The food is seasoned to perfection. Of course, some like more pepper, some like more salt, but to me, perfect. There are many selections of main dishes& sides to choose. I continue to avoid the desserts, not because they're not calling my name, but it's still summertime.... until next time, Bon Apétit!...(I started eating before I could get the pics..) ”
“ I ordered the fried chicken wings and they were fried to crispy perfection. I'm sorry I didn't give this place a chance earlier. I have ordered delivery and have eaten in as well, the fried chicken was delish on both occasions. This spot is very roomy and nicely furnished, etc. If you haven't guessed it by my comments, this place is definitely on my regular rotation list. I want to try other items, but it'll be very difficult to not get that yummy fried chicken! ”
“ So I have come to Big Mama's for the past three Friday's in a row. The catfish is AMAZING! Some of the best in Houston I've tasted so far. You get two HUGE pieces that are seasoned to perfection. You get two sides with your meal. The Mac and cheese is delicious and I got the yams which were good too! And I love the cornbread! For dessert, I tried the butter pecan cake and it was DELICIOUS. Great food and friendly staff! You have to try it! ”
